Cinco de Mayo - Floribunda - New for 2009

Cinco de Mayo Is a seedling of Julia Child. The color is very unusual and fabulous with a rusty red-orange tone and a slight "smokey" look. Cinco de Mayo inherited Julia Child's profuse blooming habit which makes it a great selection for a garden rose. In addition, the unusual color will be fabulous in arrangements.

Cinco de Mayo was hybridized by Tom Carruth and will be introduced by Weeks Roses.

Carefree Spirit - Shrub - New for 2009

Carefree Spirit has quite a history. Recognizing that the consumer doesn't want high maintenance, this rose was the winner of a nationwide test growing without pesticides. It is the first and only landscape shrub to date to endure this test and prevail as a winner. The rose has a mounding habit and produces deep red blossoms with white centers. As the flower ages, the color turns to pink. The foliage is dark green, disease resistant with
a great habit and bloom production.

Carefree Spirit is hybridized by Jacques Mouchette andintroduced by Conard-Pyle Co.
It will be available locally or by mail-order.

 


Pink Promise - Hybrid Tea - New for 2009

Pink Promise is the official rose of the national Breast Cancer Foundation. The rose is a beautiful soft pink with a high center giving it that perfect form rosarians seek. The stems are long and elegant and have a light fruit-scent. Such a beautiful rose will be a welcomed addition to the garden.
